Comments and Reviews from users:

James Logan: “Overall, it does what it's supposed to. I debate the accuracy, but my one real complaint at this point is that if I am looking through the data for previous days, there is no way to see the total distance traveled that day. You can add the distance for each recorded activity set, but that's an irritating waste of my time. I would like to be able to calculate average distance per day more easily.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Anji el tigre: “I'm totally blind and love this app. I'm diabetic and trying to reverse it through physical activity and diet. I'm off insulin, but still use metformin and trulicity. I've dropped from 249 to 232 pounds because of this app. It's very accessible, but it used to make a distinctive sound when it started tracking workouts or for notifications. Please keep and improve this app. Thanks for the dropped pounds.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “This running app is literally so easy to use and you can have it operating in the background with your screen in sleep mode. All I have to do is open the app, hit Start Live Run and begin my run. If you have any kind of sport you play and you will like to keep track of your progress, this app gives many many many different sports to track. NOT JUST RUNNING. I highly recommend this app.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “The app is super cool, easy and convenient. I've been using it for years now and I'm very satisfied. But their blog quality is so poor, omg. So much BS, so much misinformation, don't ever read it. There are some fair materials though, but if not from within fitness industry it would be hard not to get misleaded by what they publish. I don't read it, I'm just using the app and it's fantastic!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy to use, comprehensive tracking features, large community of users.
Cons Can be battery-intensive, some features require a paid subscription.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Andy H: “The offline features are so-so, and sometimes I get stuck with the app not launching while offline because Strava needs to show me some promo. Also, direct messaging doesn't show on the website, so the feature misleads you to think all users will see your DMs when in reality they can go into a black hole. Would also like more features around fitness progress trends, esp around intervals/track workouts.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Eduard Morozov: “Pros: Writes to cloud, the only reason I use it. Cons: everything else. Overloaded, terrible, always white (say goodbye to your battery and screen) UI. Can't save a trip automatically, you need to press 20 buttons and wait forever until "Save" saves. Lots of unnecessary features (friends etc). Doesn't let you to edit (cut, extend, merge) the hike. Doesn't detect if it's not a run/hike, but a car drive (how hard is this knowing speed?) Etc. By features set, it looks like it's stuck in 2011.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Cons Some features require a paid subscription, can be battery-draining, and some users have reported issues with the GPS tracking.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Jeff Green: “Much improved as of late. WearOS (on Samsung Galaxy 5) has some bugs remaining. On a recent run, I paused halfway and then resumed -- after resume all metrics showed 0, except for total time/distance. The map/data also seems to jump around (you can't trust your mile splits when using the watch) - it's unclear if this is maybe due to the watch conserving processor power when the screen is off? The Samsung app does not have this issue.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Jonathan Sobocinski: “Not a very good app compared to what else is available. 3rd party integration is bad. UI is confusing. Features are extremely limited even when compared to free versions of apps like Strava. Don't bother if you're running more than a few miles a week. There are much better alternatives out there.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Cons May not be as accurate as dedicated fitness trackers, can drain battery life, requires phone to be carried.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Edit: Took off a star because I can't figure out how to stop getting charged for the ad-free version. There was no way to cancel in the app, and under "Manage Subscriptions" all it says is that my free trial is over and how much I'll be charged each month, no "Cancel" option. I'm going to go into my Google Pay account to see if I can revoke permissions for it, but it shouldn't be that complicated.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “May 4th. Updated the app and it stopped counting my steps. The widget doesn't appear at the top of my screen anymore and when I close out the app on screen, it doesn't count my steps anymore. Please fix this! It counts steps accurately enough for me and comes with the ability to interact with other people using the app and encouraging you to meet your goals together. It doesn't get a full five stars because after the update comments and ect are unable to be read. I hope they fix it soon!” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Red Pixy: “Love that you can track your shoes with this app, this way I know how many miles I've put on my street runners, trail shoes and treadmill shoes. I dont like that in the free version you can only compare the previous month to the current month but not other months. I do like the different voices you can pick from without downloading one.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Connemara Hoffman: “This is the best run tracking app ever. I never have to use money nor are there any adds to interrupt, you can use Spotify while running, there is a voice (that can be turned off) that tells you your pace per mile, your time, and how many miles you've ran. It even tracks were you go using like Google maps or something. you can even keep a journal thing(?). I really recommend this app and it really made me want to take up running again.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Great for finding new trails, tracking your progress, and sharing your experiences with others.
Cons Can be difficult to use offline, and some features require a paid subscription.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Saundra Seabrook: “As many noted, recent updates aren't improvements. Previously, the preview trail feature was a slider I could move back and forth to see exactly where elevation changes in the trail occurred. It was fast and efficient, allowing me to preview the trail in a second. Now I have to watch an automated recording showing me the preview and then rely on my memory to know where the changes occurred. I can't go back and quickly look or compare one part of the trail to another. Incredibly frustrating.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Rohit N.: “The latest update is great. Meant good features are a bit hidden but when you find them, they help a lot. Like seeing photos by previous months and latest. The weather and wetness conditions are also great indicators though I wish it showed it for next 48hrs and not just today. When planning a trip for next morning, I should be able to see the weather for tomorrow. I also miss the simple way to see the elevation gain over the length of the hike. Good work team Alltrails!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Running App is praised for its user-friendly interface, accurate tracking, and motivating features.
Cons Some users have reported occasional GPS inaccuracies and battery drain issues with Running App.

Comments and Reviews from users:

MrBnet18: “Pretty cool app, but the tracking doesn't operate very well. I ran a good half mile further on Thursday than I did on Monday. It shows this fact on the map, but the distance/pace/etc is completely off. Distance showed to be 2/5 of a mile shorter. But the pace almost 2 minutes slower, while my total time was 5 minutes faster for the greater distance. I love inconsistency though, so I just keep using it every day. Haha!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Geeky Fanatic: “This app is amazing. My two favorite things have to be: 1. you can connect it to Google Fit and then connect it to most calorie-counting apps, and 2. you can set a water-drinking reminder (I'm horrible at drinking water.) My only problem is that the distance sensor is iffy. I will run the same path, but somehow it measures 100meters less. Then it calculates the "Heart Health" less, despite having better pace. It's a bit discouraging, but the problem never goes over 200 meters, so it's okay. 😄” – 5/5 in Play Store

I can set the goal, distance, pace, and time, and the application will let me know my progress, I can also turn this feature off at any time, and best of all it is in different languages. I have the shoes to connect to the app, and it gives me feedback on my cadence, if I should do one thing or another to better my form. I also like the community, I can post my pictures for myself, friends, or public.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Kurt LaRose MSW LCSW LICSW: “I've used this app for years. When I was an avid runner, biking, then during a period of high intensity 90 day x home training cycle ... used it in big cities ( DC, Ft. Lauderdale, Baltimore, Tallahassee, rural areas, beaches, mountains, a few different states too) ... now adays more walking (I guess grrrr) it has worked amazing. Synchs to other apps, allows me to control privacy settings ... a great memory to look back on many years ago too! Love it. Absolutely love it.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Natalie Thomas: “I've tried odometers to track my distance & they always fail. This app has worked very well for me. Tracks my walks, workouts can be added. I can better keep track of my activity level with this app. Update. 8.1.23 and I'm still using the app at times & still enjoying being able to see the final numbers. I've been using this app for 3+ years now. Haven't saved all my work but I'm still using it & enjoying it.” – 5/5 in Play Store

John Muir: “It's four stars from me because it does a great job of tracking/mapping your progress even when out of cell service. It gives me the stats that I like and is pretty easy to use. The only problem is that sometimes when I start a workout it automatically switches to save mode, which then doesn't track your workout at all. After one entire missed workout I check that the app is keeping time before I stow my phone for the hike. A small inconvenience, really.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Pros Fun and challenging endless runner with great graphics and unique gameplay.
Cons Can be difficult to control at times and some levels are very challenging.

Comments and Reviews from users:

E. Welch: “I never review stuff, but I love this app. The missions are fun and I look forward to each next episode, especially with zombie chase mode on. Adds extra adrenaline. And I love that you can play your own music! The only qualm I have is with the step counting tech really, and the odd run length tracking that I have to fix each time. But honestly I can't expect that to be perfect, since it's so variable. Great app, would recommend!” – 4/5 in Play Store

Ryan McQuillen: “This app was a game changer for me. I've never been able to get myself to run because it bores me, but the episodes are so fun and immersive I've been regularly running 5Ks using it. Until a few days ago when they changed the entire app, shoved a new app in, forced you to run in kilometers instead of miles, and removed all randomness and immersion, forcing you to choose exactly how far you run and exactly how fast you need to run to escape zombies. Also you literally can't complete runs anymore.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy to use, effective training plans, motivating audio coaching.
Cons Some features require a paid subscription, limited customization options for training plans.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Rita: “The pacing feature is really annoying. I love the voice reminders but you cant adjust sampling rate of pace reminders. Running 1.6 mi? you'll get a reminder every 30 sec. Running .2 mi? You'll still get a pace reminder every 30 sec. The slower you go, the more inaccurate it is because it's using time sampling not distance for reminders. The reminders also don't have a slider for pace accuracy and will remind you even if you're like 00:10/mi off pace which is annoying when they're so inaccurate!” – 4/5 in Play Store

Eric Dyke: “It's a little expensive, but exactly what I was looking for. The workouts for the marathon training program have been challenging, but not overwhelming. They loaded on time and effortlessly sync'd with my Garmin watch. The audio cues on the watch are reasonabley good, but I'd definitely recommend reviewing tempo and interval run plans beforehand. Just good to know what the pace goals are before leaving home.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Chris W: “I love the app for the training plan, but there are a few issues that I just can't overlook. 1. There is no "dashboard" displaying your total distance/time/etc...it breaks this down in each level, but as far as I can see, there's no rollup across all levels and training plans. 2. If you touch ANYTHING (phone call, spotify, ANYTHING) while running, the app glitches and locks up. The only way I can get it to work again is to uninstall and reinstall. Other than that, great app! Please fix!” – 2/5 in Play Store

Deb Perrin: “Only works tracking outside. If you have no steps, it just keeps going. Occasionally doesn't save your workout. Will not let you change workout days to include more then what you initially setup, otherwise, it resets your progress. Reinstalling every freaking time it happens does not help the issues. Will not keep beyond the initial 6 months.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Joel: “Decent app but can't run in the background. I liked the workout plans and the simple interface but the app has to be in the foreground for the timer to not pause. I usually watch a movie while on the treadmill so having the app pause instead of just continuing in the background makes it a no go for me. Checked settings both in app and files and couldn't see an option to fix this. Uninstalled after one use.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Spider Bite: “My favorite treadmill app that I have found. Easy interface with no screaming coaches! Wide variety of long term programs, challenges & even gives you warm-up, cool down and abs routines to go with each workout! Gives exact speed & incline suggestions. Suggestions: include background running of the app, add back button for exercises, slightly raise volume of the countdowns & instructions and enlarge the font on most everything as there is plenty of room to do that. Keep adding new programs.” – 5/5 in Play Store
