Comments and Reviews from users:

Iris: “I've used Alfred Camera for the past year. I've liked it well enough for a free camera until today. I've had my camera set to record motions and I review the events while I cam at work. I'm only giving 3 stars because today, they've taken away the option to view your recordings and require you to upgrade to a membership. We shouldn't have to pay for something that's previously been free. Being able to review your footage at least once without having to upgrade should be standard.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Cons May experience occasional lag, limited advanced features, requires stable internet connection.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Camera works alright... The model I have has 2 infrared lights on it but they are so overpowering that if there is anything even close to the camera it washes out the image. Newest version of the app however has added full screen unskippable ads on launch and this is completely unacceptable for a program like this. Remove the ads. No one can use your app without buying a product.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Mark Lopez: “App has three major issues 1. No way to delete alarm "thumbnails". 2. Even though the correct time zone is set up and the time/date stamps displayed on the videos are correct, the time stamps on the video files on the SD card are wrong. They are off by like 5 hours. 3. When using loop mode, the last video segment is always corrupt even if you do a proper shutdown of the camera.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Cons Requires a subscription for some features; some privacy concerns; can be glitchy at times.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Kitty Monnier: “Camera has been working decently, the biggest issue now at this point is that there seems to be a considerable delay in motion/person detection and the start of recording. Example: today it notified me of a person detected. I have a long flight of stairs at my front door. By the time the recording started, it caught the vehicle finishing backing up and driving away. Really wish it would actually catch the motion it detects.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Brittany McCue: “Ring - Always Home has significantly enhanced my home security. The app is intuitive, making it easy to monitor my property from anywhere. The video quality is excellent, and the motion alerts are timely and accurate. I love the ability to communicate with visitors remotely. The peace of mind it provides is invaluable. Installation was straightforward, and the features are reliable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to boost their home security.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy to use, supports a wide range of devices, offers a variety of features.
Cons May not be as feature-rich as some other security apps, can be slow to load at times, may experience occasional bugs.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “All text/instructions within the app are in broken English, which makes it hard to know what some of the features are supposed to do. Also uncomfortable with how many permissions were required to use the app. Many of them seem unnecessary. I previously had a nice clear, full-color picture, but I updated the app on 8/13/19 and now the picture is black and white. Can't seem to get it to go back to color. If the camera would work with any other app, I definitely would not be using this app.” – 2/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “It's ok but could be better. Improvements could be made by making the app settings more customizable, such as being able to customize the chimes rather than having to just use the boring sounds that come with your phone. Also would love to be able to change the time setting to 12h as well as the location as I do not live in the West. Also would it possible to incorporate being able to pan the camera through the app? Ok that may be asking a bit much but it was worth a shot.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Cons Can be expensive, requires a Wi-Fi connection, and may not be compatible with all devices.

Comments and Reviews from users:

James Buchler: “The humidity setting should change with the outdoor temperature is recommended by a s h r a e, in the winter. The thermostat does not learn, the schedule never changes regardless of settings throughout the day or night. Will not allow me to add another user even after following all the explicit directions. The home away assist is a joke. Constantly flips to away when there are two people in the house.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Robert Scudder: “Used to be better at facial recognition. A lot of times it says the wrong person nowadays. Sometimes a labeled person, it should recognize, rings the doorbell it doesn't tell you who it is. It seemed to be much more reliable the first year we had it. We've had it about 4 years now. I don't know if software updates made it less reliable or what. Still worth having but I pay for the extra features that aren't as reliable as I would like.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Pam: “I've owned and used Wyze cameras since 2020. I don't have many serious issues. Connection problems and lag from time to time. Sometimes it says no SD card when I try to play back even though there is one. But the one issue that annoys me the most is no notifications when the camera goes off! It's the app - not my phone because my husband has the same problem. The cameras work but no alerts EVER! *Edit: When I deleted the rule to silent notifications at night notifications suddenly work again.*” – 3/5 in Play Store

Mario Walter: “Still learning how to use my new v4 & how to navigate through the features. It was not an easy set-up for some reason it would not connect to my local network. used up a lot of my time figuring it out. Image quality is not so great. I only have the basic plan. Other plans seem pricey. I have to research more, and do comparisons. The monitoring has missed to important events. Guess it does not do back-to-back videos ????? Will keep trying to learn more. Basic app is BASIC.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Mayur Gaitonde: “As others have mentioned this app works fine if you want basic capabilities. They have hidden most smart and important functions behind paywalls. At a basic level this app doesn't have enough features, such the option to notify you if the garage door has been left open for x amount of time. I mean come on ! This is a must for all smart garage door openers ! And then there are the annoying ads. The app has tons of them.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

David Sarcia: “Bad, old, unstable. It keeps disconnecting, it keeps turning off and then at some point I manage to make it work again from the app. App always giving errors and connections issues. So hard to watch recordings and it forces you to buy a subscription.. Which I did also for one month, and still, disappointed. Just got a new camera of the same category and it works wonders. It's a pity!” – 2/5 in Play Store

J C: “PTZ camera is sometimes slow to respond to manual input. Often, it won't move, and then it will jump to a random point. I get warning messages stating that there's a problem with my home's wifi. There's nothing wrong with my wifi signal strength or speed. I get 278 mbps on my phone. My cable modem/router is on the 2nd floor, on the outside wall that's next to a window, and is only 30' from the camera. There's no network traffic either. One good thing though, it works in very cold temps.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Chastity Reid: “I've had cameras and lights for several years. They work great. I haven't had a problem with the equipment. However, the app... the rewind/fast forward feature could use some work. A slider alone is not enough. Now the widget barely works on my galaxy s23. Can't open my cameras now. Other than that, no issues.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Ann Marie: “There are so many other camera brands that offer similar services for less upfront & ongoing cost. The stored videos are not continuous, they are spliced together jumping from one part of an event to the next. You can see a person walking one second then disappear into thin air. There was no option to download the videos to my phone. I was not able to fast forward or rewind recordings and I also could not zoom in.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Michael Bonventre: “The picture and sound quality are great, but the problem is when it decides to record. It starts recording a few seconds after the motion is detected, so someone could easily run by and do something without even being recorded if they are quick enough. It also will stop recording well before the action or motion stops. It works fine as a monitor as far as checking in when you want to see what's going on but not even close to being for real security.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Adam Bertagnolli: “I found the ability to talk to be 50/50, and the max volume is still too low. The automated options are pretty bad. I'm very interested in a lot more automated capability. I literally may change providers at some point over this. It wasn't clear or intuitive whether individual cameras could have different schedules. There's a definitely delay between capture and being able to view it. The video quality is excellent, however.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Cons May not be suitable for businesses, limited storage.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Jonathan Ayers: “"Improving UI experience" = They added nags/advertisments for their cloud subscription that cannot be permanently dismissed/keep coming back. App is middling at best. One of the biggest issues is that it insists on going to the first recorded vid of a day. E.g. You get an alert at 8AM then more throughout the day. Good luck actually viewing anything after 8AM! It will keep playing the first vid instead. You might see more after a dozen attempts. Notifications are also getting slower and slower.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Shakey 6666: “There are functions on this app which have little or no meaning to me e.g. 'anti-flicker setting' "select a frequency that is the same as the current ambient light frequency". HTF am I supposed to know that? Also, under 'Recording Management' is a toggle for "Video Switch" No idea what that means. It would be helpful to be able to find a guide to these screens on-line, but my search has been fruitless.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Anastasia Anderson: “I like that members are provided a fitness app with plenty of resources but I absolutely HATE using their reservation system. Now that reservations are required, they've added a new reservation slot section. Every time I go to reserve the app glitches, not showing me any times, and then an hour later showing that the whole day is free. I have to spend my entire day waiting for the slots to load, sometimes even the button leading to the reserve section won't respond. Wish they would fix this bug.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Molly Fabbri: “This app is super buggy for reservations. Sometimes it books a time an hour earlier than I selected. Often it takes me 20+ tries to actually get a slot to book because I get an error. The confirmation emails go to spam even after I've marked them safe, Gmail doesn't like them. Reservations often don't show so I have to close and reopen multiple times before I leave for the gym so I can prove I have the slot. Wonder if the iPhone version is this bad or if its just android being neglected again.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “The app itself is great for finding out my rotas, duties etc now that we can also access DAS to request days off, swap shifts etc. This is fine if you are using an phone or IPAD - however it would be good if you could also get this on a desktop PC - it may be possible but I cant find anything in search results other than a link to the app on google which has to be installed on a mobile device. My invite letter from the company also doesn't mention a website link/password as you need to scan a QR code for log in. Would have got 5 stars if this feature was available.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Andrew Rapado: “When i purchased a new phone, the App transferred across from my old device. However, it was not allowing me to log in - the "continue" and "help" buttons were converging and not taking me to the window to enter the 6 digit code (which i was receiving in my inbox). Emailed the help address and a VERY friendly guy (Ryan) emailed back and had the issue resolved with 90 minutes of reporting the issue! Excellent App to use - nice and easy . EXCELLENT customer service!!!” – 5/5 in Play Store
