Cons Requires a compatible device for each child, Can be bypassed by tech-savvy children, May not be suitable for all families

Comments and Reviews from users:

William Gay: “The concept is great and there is some really good functionality but there are 2 main issues we have run into. 1. One of my child's devices randomly turns off the downtime and screen time limits. we don't find out about this until well past when the phone should be locked. it is very inconsistent. 2. Granting access to certain sites/games/apps can be cumbersome. Sometimes it is very straight forward, other times it requires several passwords and pages to navigate.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Alexis James: “The location feature is literally the WORST. It is very inconsistent with accurately tracking location correctly, which is scary. I sometimes get random notifications that my child has left home in the middle of the night. Not sure if this is some kind of lag from leaving earlier in the day or what......the location also takes forever to update when you click "update location". Need to fix these issues.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Cons Some features require a subscription, can be battery-draining if you have a lot of widgets.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Mónica Arce: “Compared to the version available for iphone users, I feel like the app is lacking in a lot. For example, the pet/co-parenting feature. It's available for iphone but not Android. Also, the app interface looks a bit dated and like there's been few changes to it since first developing the app, whereas the interface for iPhone users looks a lot more cute, updated and clean. Truthfully got this app for the pet feature and was disappointed to find it wasn't available for my phone lol” – 2/5 in Play Store

Chloe Reid: “I'm loving the new pet feature for Android. It's really fun being able to raise pets with my friends, but I've been having connection issues. This wasn't an issue for the first few days, but now I can't access my pets all. When I try to load them up, it keeps saying network error. It's not my wifi or data because I have full bars on both, and all of my other apps work fine. I'll give five stars if this ever gets fixed.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Cons Some users have reported that the app can be slow at times, and that it can be difficult to add new members to the family account.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Robert Morgan: “Update: For a couple weeks now the widgets advertise about upgrading to Gold and you can't exit out of the add. I've tried removing and adding the widgets and reinstalling the app. None of it works. This takes away one of the most convenient features. We can keep all of our appointments on here and share with each other. It's easy to filter.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Justin Wentz: “This app was great value when it was free with ads. Now that it forced us to start paying to schedule a month in advance there need to be many more improvements to justify paying again another year. First of all the app is bad compared to the iPhone version of the app. Second the widget is terrible. A widget that allows me to see the calenda on my home screen is the most important thing to me. It doesn't scroll at all. basically a screenshot of the next 3 events. you can't click into events.” – 2/5 in Play Store

This app allows you full monthly calendar view along with color coordination, memos, lists (shared grocery list are awesome) reminders, even location! My whole family has joined and it has made daily life so much easier! It's user friendly & EASY to navigate (unlike others)! I've tried four other apps before this... don't waste ur time! Use Famcal first! It's everything!!!” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “This app makes it easier to view the family activities, bills, birthdays, etc. The memo section is very useful for keeping track of things with dates and notes and comments. My husband can add things and we both get notifications when things change or are added. It would be nice to add pictures in the comments in the memo section, we use it to keep track of things and it won't let us add anymore (we only have 4 pictures on it). I ran out of space. This app is awesome, but could be improved.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Savanna G: “I was trying to figure out a schedule for my 4.5 month old. She was waking up 3x a night and getting grumpy later in the day. One week into the recommended schedule and my baby has slept through the night 3 nights in a row! It is easier to plan family outings around naps now AND she has stopped totally relying on nursing to fall asleep (though it is still her preferred method of snoozing). I NEVER write reviews but this has made me feel much more confident as a first time mom.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Nasim Bahador: “A fantastic app! Super helpful for figuring out my littles wake windows. I've used it for both my kids. Tracking wet and poopy diapers is super helpful especially when it's a hot summer day and I need to make sure they were nursing enough and staying hydrated. I also love being able to easily see which side they nursed from last. Especially in the middle of the night. Adding extra details like how they fell asleep helps me find the trends on how they liked to sleep. Best baby tracking app!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Cute and engaging, social features, easy to play.
Cons In-app purchases can be expensive, can be repetitive, some features require a lot of time or money to unlock.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Brandon Dillon: “The game was fun for a week. I didn't experience that glitches or lag that some others did. There's a good variety of mini games and the items are fun to unlock for your pengu. The problem I had was the constant notifications to feed and love them. I cant fault it too much, I get that its a virtual pet and thats the point, but it was annoying. Also, they die after 1 day of not playing the app so you'll need to be dedicated. My girlfriend and I got two pengus to level 8 before they both died.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Alex Rodgers: “I don't know if it's just my phone, but whenever I go into the store, it glitches, and I have to exit out (not close the app) in order to see what to buy. And does the Pengu ever sleep? I wake up, and my Pengu is sad because I didn't feed it at 2 in the morning. Don't like the add friends feature because it keeps the reminder on the screen, which is distracting. The mini arcade games are fun, though.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “I struggle with ADHD and finding a moment of quiet from my kids. This app has short, simple lessons. 5 minutes maybe and each can be stopped and started if needed. They keep my focus and are easy for me to comprehend. I have learned a lot in each quick lesson and am excited to learn more. As someone who has read parenting book after parenting book, this app is a HUGE lifesaver. It's so much easier to get the knowledge I'm looking for to be a better parent without the struggle of learning. Ty. <3” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “This app is intended for bonding with children, but its lessons can improve all types of relationships. Pleasing graphics and clean design make it easily navigable, and the app has a friendly way of luring me in for one more lesson. The material is presented in focused snippets with questions to check understanding along the way -- a format that helps me retain the highlights. Most importantly, I'm excited to put my new knowledge into action!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy to use, great for collaboration, helps track progress
Cons Can be buggy at times, limited storage space, not always reliable

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “It's Free - I'll stick with it. But it's not the most user friendly and doesn't have much in the way of instructions.. I would love to see a 'Search' features in the chat section. Also, there is nothing that shows whether or not you have shared something with a co-parent and confirms whether or not they've seen it/accepted it. I think this would be an invaluable feature. Additionally, the child profile sections could be a little more user-friendly. Once you have more than one 'note' in a section, you can't always scroll to the next or last note. UPDATE: so it appears that you can search but you have to act like you want to export the chats first. It was not user-friendly and there are no directions. The developer stated you can see confirmations if sent requests but tha is not what I was referring to. I believe that we should see confirmation of everything that is sent to and received by the co-parent so that we have a record of what notes, medical items, etc were shared and received so there is not question of what items were shared/received and when.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “It is ok. I find it a challenge to figure out how to set everything up, mostly the kids schedules and changes. It is hard to delete an ongoing schedule and hard to edit it. There is a delay in messages at times and not all my messages send which has caused big communication issues in an ready temperamental situation. The concept is good, overall I do not like using the app though.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “While I appreciate the effort to make the OFW app look slick, it still suffers from some terrible UI/UX decisions. The worst offense is the "landing page" that comes when trying to read your messages. It's especially unnecessary/confusing to see that when there are no new messages waiting for you. No other messaging app that has been developed in at least the past decade or so has or needs such a page. It just gets in the way of being able to send/read messages. Also, while OFW automatically saves any messages as a draft every few seconds, there is no way to get out of the compose screen without feeling like you might discard the message when pressing the Back button. There should at least be a "Save this as a draft? Y/N" prompt. Lastly, in the Sent Messages folder, the unread yellow-gold indicators are inconsistent & do not make it obvious if the message has been read. In order to see when the message was first read, you have to dig all the way into the message. I feel like I'm being held hostage because I cannot use another app/service and I just have to endure a sub-standard experience using it for $99/year.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Raquel Alvarado: “It is OK overall does its work, I guess in sending messages. It is so frustrating when you do an entry journal or message it tends to go away when you either switch screens, within seconds of no activity, the entry on event. When you click the date you want, it will not give you that date clicked on the calendar. It gives you other dates that you have to click on. it is annoying. my Google calendar is faster and better to use than theirs.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Pros Keeps all communication in one place, helps reduce conflict, promotes co-operation.
Cons Can be expensive, some users have reported technical glitches, may not be suitable for high-conflict situations.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “It's unfortunate to need an app to co-parent, but in the first month of use I have seen a big improvement in communication. It's amazing what people don't say when they think it will be used in court. The calendar option is nice, but I can't add reoccuring events like phone calls or soccer practice etc. Trips that last more than one day are also difficult to add. I decided to pay for the app usage although I can understand some of the complaints about paying for one more thing. $50 a year for this app gives peace of mind and nowhere compares to my legal fees. OUCH!” – 4/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “This app requires that I frequently refresh the page to see new messages. Also, the calendar doesn't allow you to set up recurring events. I also don't care for the fact that you can't revise Journal entries once they're saved. Finally, the calendar in the app won't sync with my phone calendar so I have to go into the TP app to see upcoming events. Seems like there are a lot of things with this app that could be improved.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Cons Glitches sometimes, Not all features are free, Can be difficult to get both parents on board

Comments and Reviews from users:

Katrina Turner: “A good basic organiser with messenger, event and calender log and money spent/sent log. $150 per year is a bit expensive for how basic as these options are free with other apps. Please add options in app for colours for the event dot as it appears on calender. Currently all events (except visitation schedule) appear as same colour dot, making it hard to direct attention to specific events or more important than normal events. Alarm notification for events would be appreciated.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Dan Rach: “The app works decently well. The last update turned all my notifications off and won't allow them to be turned back on. This is quite important and is a critical part of using the app that needs attention. Overall quality control and testing appears to be lacking based on other comments and my experience so far.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Appts should overlay a general custody calendar. Also I need an option for recurring appts. Soccer ever saturday for 8 weeks, but sometimes a holiday is there or a make up rain date, so recurrance needs some flex. So far, i like lay out, but i don't want to spend time entering appts when custody trading is also an issue.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “4/2/19 since my last review they have gotten a lot better, sometimes you have difficulty logging in when there's an update. Customer service is generally quick to reply.
