Pros User-friendly interface, automatic calculations, multiple payment options.
Cons May require manual entry of expenses, limited customization options, can be confusing for complex expense sharing.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Sasha: “Update: Splitwise has changed their policies to enforce a 3 transaction per day limit on their free account. I'm not inclined to pay $5 a month just to use this app, but unfortunately they do not offer at one time fee, which I would do. Taking off one star, but still a great app. Original: Awesome app for keeping track of who owes who, especially on group trips! Does everything you would want it to do in an easy and straightforward interface. Kudos!” – 4/5 in Play Store

Hayley Sharpe: “It was a great app, but now it wants you to pay a monthly charge to log more than a certain amount of expenses per day and will have a 10 sec delay during most logging (unpaid version). When traveling, it's very difficult to keep up with shared expenses and this apps whole purpose was to aid in that process. Hoping they restore the apps functionality soon.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Cons Some features are only available in the paid version, and it can be a bit overwhelming for new users.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “This app is amazing. It's very user friendly, and is a great tool for managing my personal finances and in creating a budget. I thought it was significantly beyter than the other finance apps available (its easier to use and set up, more user friendly, better tools for seeing everything). You can budget for specific categories, see your overall income/expenses for month/year. You can pretty much do everything with the free version with minimal ads. I didn't really need the additional features in the paid version, but I bought it anyway cuz I love it and want to support it! The only thing I'd want different or to improve on is: --- More ease with setting up historical data. It took me forever to input everything from the last year+ (I want to see my finances and budget for past data too!). --- Improve the PC editor -there's very little I can do with it, seems a little buggy, and lacks the features of the app version.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Have been keeping my finances with this app for more than a year now. The best of all the other apps I've tried previously. Very customizable but in a way that is fairly easy to understand and use. Shows the growth and changes of your total or a specific income and expenses in well done graphs and pie charts. Upgrade version is affordable and worthy. Love it!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Cons Some users have reported that the app can be buggy and can sometimes be difficult to sync with other financial accounts.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Gabriel Thomas: “One of the better budget apps... Easy to use and love the swipe to repeat feature. I like the templates, but i wish more could be added than just 3. Never had an issue with bank sync and now CapOne won't register. Edit: bank sync works but Amex banking no longer supported. Still an amazing app. Better than spendee as they havent updated theirs in years. Wallet is much more user friendly and thus easier to use on a daily basis.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Bradley Hammer: “Originally would have given a higher rating, my partner and I have used this for going on 6 years or so now and it's been extremely helpful with keeping track of financial spending and saving. However, with the most recent update a feature was removed that we used on a regular to balance everything and find missing charges. The Balance Adjustment feature is gone, I know you just pull out a calculator and split the difference but you pay for the features you like and that was one of many.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Eg my mortgage and insurance stay consistent, but spending on food would be manually added. I also wish I could budget by category. I think right now it just let's you set a single monthly spending budget which is great. But to have the option of specific categories would be a great option.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Florian Schoellhammer: “I love this app, it's exactly what we have been looking for to track our spending. The visualizations are beautiful, the UI is super intuitive, the categories are great and rules make it easy to classify transactions. Only drawback is that it has a lot of syncing issues, so often transactions are delayed up to a few weeks, so it's probably not the best for real time data.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Brianna Brown: “I've been looking for a budgeting app that would pull past and current data and keep it updated, even when I'm busy. No more sitting down on a day off to pour over the budget. No more stressing over it. I even enjoyed setting up the app. While there are a few improvements that could be made, they made requesting them very easy. My accounts stay connected for a few days and then ask to be reconnected, but it only takes a minute since I just have to do the 2 factor authentication.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Cons May not be suitable for complex financial needs, and some features may require a paid subscription

Comments and Reviews from users:

Bertin Mparanyi: “Excellent app. The only thing missed on this app, is the expenses forecast. It could be the best if we are able to put the month expenses forecast, to track if we are on line with revenue and to compare the actual expenses. This must be showed also on chart for better view. Data input: We should be able - To choose the date. - To select if it's recurrent or not. Daily, weekly or monthly. - The amount. - To select the account. - To select the category. - To add comment.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Douglas Campbell: “Good so far, but two suggestions to improve experience: 1. Add a 'confirm to exit feature'. It takes some time to enter the app again each time I accidentally leave it by touching the back button. 2. Make the graph more interactive. When I tap a section on the graph, at least show a label for that section so that I can know what it represents without having to hunt through the list of income/expenses below it.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Was 4-5 stars until recently. Having multiple problems including: expenditure description opening random parts of app when trying to type in description, upgrade options not loading, "contact us" not working, and potentially not syncing? Keeps saying "tap here to sync" at the top but the button doesn't work and it won't go away. Disappointed as this was a great app and I was considering purchasing the upgraded version. Update: That glitch fixed. However, I have one scheduled monthly bill that comes out on the same day each month. I have only added it once. For the last few months it has been showing it as an expense x5 from my account. I have to go through and delete all of the duplicates each time. Also, I keep having to choose "wallet" with each transaction. It used to default to one of them and now it will not.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “I originally used the desktop version for work to manage larger budgets for the year. (I got sick of Excel.) I liked it enough to get the Android version for my home use. The icons are pretty, the charts are simple and easy to read, and I like that you can have subcategories. I'm just beginning to explore the bills and budget section. I log transactions manually (personal preference), so I can't speak to what it's like to connect a bank acct. So far, the app has been very pleasant to use. 😊” – 5/5 in Play Store

I still like the format but it's unbearable to go back and forth between my other apps like bank account, calculator and store purchase history, and this app. *Since Mint shut down, this jas been an excellent replacement to help me budget and keep track of my expenditures. I particularly like being able to make my own expenditure categories and budget amounts specific to that category.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Amanda Towner: “This app got me out of debt! i love having an app where I can make several different budgets on my phone and enter them in simply. i can copy previous budgets that worked and use them for next month. i have an overall monthly budget that shows my income and all monthly expenses (bills) and projected ones, like groceries. i am also able to do weekly budgets for gas to make sure I dont go over that either. love it!!!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Lysa Munden: “Let me start with how much I love this app. I've used it for 3 years with no problems. 2 weeks ago, transactions from my bank stopped coming in. I tried all of the troubleshooting recommended with no change. I reached out to support with no response for days. Do I try for a refund before uninstalling? I'm not sure what to do next. UPDATE: It's fixed! I can't find an email except the automated ones. But it's ok, transactions are coming in now! Thank you so much! Definitely a 5 star app.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Bay B: “I like the app a lot, and it's been helping me keep track of my spending, even with just the free version. However, since the update, everything is cut short on the right side of my screen. The last number or letter is missing, as if it's just too wide for my phone. I see "remainin" and "10.0" instead of "remaining" or "10.00." It's a little annoying.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Andréa Withrow: “not as robust or as good as The web app. when paying off my credit card I have to go to the web app because I can't find the category and the phone app. otherwise this is fantastic. I've been able to accurately pay so many bills, and plan for surprises. I've only been using this since February (two whole months) and it's been a game changer. I came from mint and mint was really not good at helping me save money, just tracking money, so less of a budgeting tool and more of a tracking tool.” – 4/5 in Play Store

M D: “This is a great budget app, full stop. I like that it deals only with money you actually have, which is an issue I had with Everydollar. I have one big complaint though. I signed up for the yearly subscription, and I thought I'd already paid. Either way, the app auto-adds a budget item for the subscription but sets the due date for NEXT YEAR. I have to reshuffle my money to cover the subscription. I'd also like to see a one-time paid lifetime license rather than a perpetual yearly arrangement” – 4/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy-to-use interface, in-depth analytics, customizable budgeting.
Cons Advanced features may require a subscription, some users report occasional bugs or crashes.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Great app but there seems to be a bug with entering a GPS location. Once I hit the submit button it will duplicate my entry several times so it seems like I spent the same amount at a location multiple times. When I try and delete the duplicate transaction, it will delete all transactions associated with that specific entry. My fix was to just type in the location under the note portion and to not put a GPS location on the entry.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Biggest plus with this app is the biweekly budgeting. Some major down falls though. 1. If you set up budgets in Android you can't see them in iOS. 2. People you share wallets with can't see your actions in the wallet and you can't see theirs so it ends up being pointless 3. Can't change categories on "pending" transactions so they end up effecting the wrong budgets. 4 you can't set up your biweekly income. 5. Can't leave notes on credit card transactions. 6. Bank syncing is awful in android. You have to exit the app without closing it and reenter it several minutes later for it to show it did anything. All these fixed would make for an outstanding app. Mint would have you beat if they had a bi-weekly budgeting option.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Kristofer Flowers: “Was really good for years. Even used it to help me get the right credit card for me. But now it's just been a pain. Doesn't connect to accounts correctly, and sometimes just drops them completely. This is my second time un/reinstalling the app just to see my accounts. It won't relink to my companies payroll card, so it's not getting half of my pay/purchases. And it says it updates my accounts regularly, but it's ALWAYS missing purchases. Mainly my utilities and bills. Credit score works though.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Vee Glessner: “UI is fine, but the data is so half baked it's not remotely helpful. Very poor detection of internal transactions (account to account), not compatible with Fidelity, appears to show fake data as an "example" if it doesn't have your real data. Cue me panicking that my credit score had dropped 100 points! Doesn't keep accounts up to date, overall useless and not in any way a substitute for Mint.” – 2/5 in Play Store

natalie huang: “It's a great app to keep track of expenses. The currency conversion is also almost similiar to what is in the current market. Sadly, I can't edit the default categories. I can only use another icon if I want to create my own category name. Ex: shopping cart/groceries looking icon already has a default name called "shopping" and can't be edited.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Bhaskar Sarkar: “Absolutely stunning. The app is incredibly easy to use and the pie chart feature is so helpful. Furthermore, the UI creates a positive vive somehow with it's color choices and over look and feel as well as functional that actually makes me want to use the app regularly instead of finding it to be a tedious task to track expense. Lastly, the fact that it shows very short ads adds to the overall positive experience of using this app.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Cons The free version is quite limited. The paid version is expensive. Syncing issues.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Brenda Thompkins (Butterflydzines): “I really like the way it looks - it has a neat and clean, uncluttered look. It is easy to add categories and budgets but there is one important feature missing, even in the Pro version, and that is the ability to schedule expenses so they are automatically deducted. That is the only thing keeping me from purchasing the Pro version. Please consider adding this to a future update!!” – 4/5 in Play Store

K Co: “Easy to use, no need to login and no storage of data outside of device. It would be nice to have option to maintain several budgets at once; not sure if that is an option with the paid version or not. Also would like it if it showed the negative amount when a budget category goes into the red; so you have a quick reference to know the exact amount over. But it's a great simple budgeting app overall!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Taisha Perez: “For the free version, 5 starts. However, I bought the subscription, and I thought my household of 4 would be able to edit the budget. Turns out I would have to buy multiple subscriptions to edit one budget screen. I hope in the future they will give a discount for multiple users as I really love the concept of the app. I just couldn't use it for my needs, sadly” – 3/5 in Play Store

Brian Jameson: “Simple and straightforward. A note to the Developers, PLEASE don't get wrapped up in other reviews asking for more bells, whistles, and tracking. If users want that kind of app, there are plenty of options out there for them. Don't mess up the simplicity of this design. I enter all of my recurring transactions and can see in a glance what is actually available. It's perfect!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Joel Reynolds: “Switching to Cashew from Expense Manager was a great move! The UI is clean and user-friendly, making tracking expenses a breeze. Even though the free version suited my needs, I purchased the Lifetime Pro version because the app is amazing and the developers deserve the support. One small improvement I'd love to see is a "Split" feature that enables one transaction to be split between two or more categories. Overall, Cashew is a top-notch expense manager with a lot to offer. Highly recommended!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Elvijs B.: “Cashew is by far the best financial app I've tried. It's got everything you could want, and the design and UI is top-notch! My only suggestion is to add more subcategories for expenses. For example, under Groceries, it would be great to have options like 'Groceries > Fruits > Apples, Banana.' Right now, you can only add one subcategory, which can be a bit limiting. Overall, I'm so impressed with Cashew that I'm seriously considering getting the premium version.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Pros Easy to use, clean interface, insightful analytics
Cons Limited customization options, some features are only available with a paid subscription

Comments and Reviews from users:

Sheree Grier: “Please make an actual app instead of a website container that reloads and goes back to its default screen while I'm actively using it and the Internetet blips for a sec. Monarch's not very good at detecting recurring expenses since it doesn't go back that far. Accounts that won't connect on Android or desktop Firefox will sometimes work fine on Chrome or Edge. Still the best Mint replacement if you need more than Plaid supports.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Shane Labuzan: “Functional, but still very buggy. This app functions properly about 80% of the time. The remaining 20% features random, weird bugs that are not repeatable and come and go randomly. Accounts not updating for months, but Monarch says they are still connected. I had to delete, reconnect to fix that issue. Now, my 401K balance will magically change to exactly $50,000 randomly (it has happened twice). Not sure why it randomly goes to exactly $50,000.” – 3/5 in Play Store
