Comments and Reviews from users:

Rachelle Shreve: “I really like how this app explains grammar rules, makes you spell the words out, and challenges you with similar options for multiple choice. It has a vocabulary bank that you can refer back to! I love that you can connect and get feedback from a native speaker quickly, and help others learning your language too. The app is a little slow to load up, but that is my only complaint.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Rory Vulpes: “This app has many issues, and is in my opinion a very poor teacher. I'm learning LATAM Spanish. The app defaults to Spain Spanish and hides latam Spanish. It also asks a lot of academic questions that are not useful nor conducive to learning to speak read or write a language, and does not spend enough time on new words or concepts for you to fully grasp them. I was pleased initially by the videos of people speaking, but about 8% in (according to the app) they all became pictures with TTS.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Joel Mortensen: “Great for many languages but do not recommend if you're learning Portuguese from Brazil. The Brazilian Portuguese Course uses AI Avatars instead of real people which just feels lazy. I've checked and on Chinese, German, French, European Portuguese, and both European and Mexican Spanish they have actual videos of natives speaking, while BR-PT just uses random photos with an AI filter to make it look like the mouth is moving. Please show the same amount of care as you do with your other courses.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Tom Tytunovich: “I've been using Memrise for nearly a decade, and it used to be my absolute favorite app - I would recommend it to everyone I knew who wanted to learn a language. But over the years they've gradually made it worse, to the point where the free version seems all but useless now, with most content locked behind paywalls. How sad to see greed slowly eat away at a wonderful product and strip away everything that made it great.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

eddie pool: “This app would be great if the voice recognition could be improved. As it is, it is extremely frustrating to use. I like to use the hands free option, but over and over again the app won't even acknowledge a response, or if it does it will hear my response in a ridiculous, almost comical way. I'm learning Italian, which is one of the easiest languages to learn as far as pronunciation is involved so I can't imagine how bad the voice recognition would be with a more difficult language.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Susan Elizabeth Thayer: “Attractive UI but the user experience is imperfect. Has nice mode where I can converse hands free, yet it never hears single words. When tapping on my phone is required, Mondly often leaves a lot of blank space between the words to be selected and the continue button at the screen bottom. On larger phones this makes the experience less enjoyable. Also, it is really easy to accidentally redo a lesson because the new lesson isn't highlighted and the lesson just completed remains center screen.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Abdulah Mahayni: “I downloaded the full version and it's very user friendly and for the number of languages you get it is worth the $200. It goes at a good pace and even learning a completely foreign language like Japanese is progressing smoothly. They teach with pictures and sounds and words. They also teach you how to pronounce and that works 90% of the time but 10% it just doesn't work. The pictures are very clear. There is an option to pause and see the English translation or pause and listen again. 97/100!!!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Colleen McB: “Glitchy. Even if auto advance is off, the app advances the exercises past where you speak about 50% of the time. It shows as a skipped exercise and it won't let you go back and do it. Then because you did not complete the speaking exercises, it marks the whole lesson as incomplete so you can't advance. Reinstalling it worked for about 5 minutes then glitched again.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Daniel Worlton: “Fantastic app for Asian languages with well structured lessons and lots of review modes. It does require a bit of work on your side to figure out your learning schedule of new lessons and reviews, would be nice if that was streamlined a little better, especially when crossing between Level 1 and Level 2. Would not recommend for European languages, level of teaching is too low and the emphasis on spelling words (while brilliant for unfamiliar writing systems) quickly becomes painful.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Lon: “Personally, this is my go-to app for a quick lesson in Korean. I believe it is x10 better than Duolingo! However, although it gives you an option to hear the word slower, I wish they would break the word down even more. Yes, it gives you the romanized way under the way it's supposed to be written, but as a slow learner I'd like to have the word broken down consonant by consonant and so forth. Other than that, I enjoy this app!” – 4/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Excellent app. I love how it combines different ways to learn the words like vocabulary, word matching, hearing and writing the words, and images you must identify. This incorporates multiple senses. My only frustration is that it doesn't require you to hear the word, and write it out with its definite article. I would also like to see how the word is used in a sentence. Still, I have gone through all the apps on playstore 18 apps in all, including desktop apps, and this one is the best yet” – 5/5 in Play Store

timothylegg: “I'd be willing to pay for the older version back. My app autoupdated a year ago and I stopped using it entirely. Uninstalled it about 6 month ago. I was with you guys early on and it was a lot of fun seeing you go the places you have with this tool. Update: I absolutely loved the word match with 100+ words, and it was so fast, and hard too. But now it's too sluggish and easy...” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “I'm a paid subs and find this app to be a mixed bag. There are obvious parallels between it and DuoLingo. It doesn't do much teaching (same as DuoLingo). It shows words and phrases and expects you to learn them through rote memorization. Same as DuoLingo, but without the explanations available from other users in the comments section. My biggest issue is it uses sentences for context but then provides zero explanation on tap for the words. There's also little to no explanation on sentence structure. It teaches you the word like fruit (Obst) and to sell (verkaufen) and then it gives you a sentence like 'You sell fruit in the market' (du verkaufst obst auf dem markt) but provides zero explanation on where auf and dem came from. It is pretty obvious in this particular sentence, but this is just an example for context. This is a far bigger problem when multiple verbs are in a and one is active versus not. Also, the recorded conversation piece is useless. The sentences used are relevant to the topic, but not the skill level. If I'm a beginner I listen to it and have no idea what is going on and immediately forget all of it. Unlikely to renew without improvements.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “I really wanted to love this app, would even be willing to pay for it, but despite the interface which is great, the chat bot feature which is cool and the large amount of content, it's lacking a placement evaluation which as someone who is not a total beginner is a deal breaker because I have to go through so much stuff that I already know and there's a lot of repetition in the lessons so it's just annoying. Also there's a weird static sound on the audio which isn't an issue with my phone.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Melinda Wiggins: “Fun Easy Learn is by far the best language learning app I have used. As an avid multi-language learner, Fun Easy Learn allows me to retain what I learn from it's simplistic (yet detailed) easy to follow format utilizing both audio and visual features, that create both challenging and rewarding learning experiences from the beginner level to more advanced levels. The fact that Fun Easy Learn allows me to go back and review learned topics is a plus. I highly recommend; try it and enjoy!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Andy Roberts (AndyMountHood): “I've been using it for about six days now and am really enjoying it. Plus, it's one of the few apps I can find that teaches Dutch. Two disadvantages: 1. There's no spaced repetition review, so I have to set my own review schedule. 2. When I choose to skip a word, it pronounces the next one but doesn't move to the next word on the screen.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

J.: “Studying Japanese: No universal way to turn off romaji; no way to change speed of audio (as far as I can tell); no way to stop audio from automatically playing on flash cards. Frankly, too much fluff—it's nice that reading is being incorporated nowadays, but it is not useful for learners if it's all in romaji. A fundamental lesson at the beginning of hiragana and katakana would be better, then using kanji and furigana thereafter. The voice coach is completely incompetent.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Skyler Mudd: “The Pimsleur method really works, and the app just amplifies it. The ability to switch between multiple languages makes it incredibly easy to become a multi-lingual student. The app itself has the perfect features to help learn any of the 50+ languages. Even if you just listen to the lessons, and don't use the other features in the app, you will still be amazed by the end of the level / course. Just focus on the lessons, and BOOM! you're saying stuff you never thought you would be able to.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “It's better the website than this app. I use Chrome in my smartphone to follow the lessons and everything goes well. The app doesn't introduce anything new, it's just exactly a web version copy but even with a limitation: you can't watch videos in full screen mode. It's better to use a browser like Chrome in your phone and just simply add a shortcut to the course in your home screen” – 2/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “amazing resource. another trick that has worked for me to get the videos to play is to log into the website page on my phone (I am using chrome) and to go to the episode I want that way, then it automatically flips me into the app with working videos. but if I try to open the app directly, the videos don't work without downloading them from the other tools menu. hope that helps!” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “the idea behind this app is excellent, but it stll has numerous problems: 1. in the Fill in the blank exercise, it often hangs in the middle of a long word and the app has to be aborted and restarted. The exercise cannot be completed and always stops on the same word. 2. the time between exercises increases steadily up to more than 1 minute at the end of the advanced level. 3. the correct and error counts after the Match Phrases exercise are incorrect. 4. geschätsreise?, mühge?” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Great app! Very fun and helpful. I gave 3 stars because the progress is not saved and now I bought a new phone and my points and the levels that I've earned are gone! I used to like this app but in order to learn a language I need to be able to follow my progress and with this app its impossible. Even of you spent a lot of time and learned a lot - once you change a device its all gone. Comments and Reviews from users:

Yash Kadel: “Great app, but could be greater - 1. the sounds in the quiz for correct answers should have the option to be muted. 2. multiple words should be able to be selected at once in the text, to get a better contextual meaning. Again, other than these not too major issues, the app is very very useful and helpful for learning German! Thank you for creating this.” – 5/5 in Play Store

T.J. Whitmire: “Initially I was dismissive with the payments but the results are amazing. If you are serious about learning German you NEED to be able to read and enjoy what you're reading. No other application so far (and I have tried very many) is able to divide stories up along with your comprehensive level. Duolingo is able to do this with "stories" but it is very limited to a handful of lessons.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

ras0220: “This app has been extremely effective in teaching me German. The method used to build and constantly review vocabulary words is actually fun and far from being monotonous as are other methods (such as making notecards). If I see a German word in a video or book that I want to commit to memory, I use the search feature in the Seedlang vocabulary to look up the word and add it to my vocabulary list to review. German grammar is the bane of my existence but this app makes it very learnable.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Liselot Ramirez (Lee): “I found this app via the EasyGerman YouTube channel. The app has three main features: Stories, Vocabulary, and Trivias; these categories use videos with a nice group of people that make you feel safe to try practicing German. The app is very immersive, all the videos are spoken in clear German and most have subtitles when it applies, so you get used to pronunciation and accents from the different people in the activities. I like that more than the language, you learn culture, general knowledge, and when/where to use certain phrases. The way they teach you is like you're already in Germany and hanging out with friends, so it's good for foreigners like me or people who want to come over to visit. For the content, the Stories category looks like the EasyGerman videos, but now you can repeat certain parts of the video and compare it to the original, which makes it better to practice pronunciation. The Vocabulary lets you try first and they give you the rules of the language, at the end you can repeat the parts you fail and get it right, so it feels less of a punishment and more that you're improving. The Trivia category has trivia for the German language itself but also has general culture facts from German speaking countries, Europe, and history facts (I learnt the first postal stamp in Germany was in 1872!). Additionally, the customer support is very polite, nice, and fast! I was surprised that they took their time to write back with actual helpful info (some apps have a very slow process or have noticeable bots). Thanks to the entire team for developing such a great app, the Pro Version worths every cent. If you want to learn with an app that treats you like a person and feels real, this is the one you need. PS: so far I've just seen Cari and Manuel in the videos, can't wait to see Janusz! I will try all the exercises until I find him :D” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Doug Obujen: “This review is a bit premature, but apparently the producers of this app are anxiously awaiting an early response. I've only used it less than a week, but so far, I'm pretty satisfied with it. It provides many articles, and, if you are sketchy about the meaning of a word, you can quickly get a read-out by touching that word. I use this app in accompaniment with 'Reverso,' and, 'Readle.'” – 4/5 in Play Store

Sri S: “Very good app to learn German and also to read local news. One important feature is missing for German when clicking on a word or when revising the marked words. The article is not shown. Every noun has to be accompanied by its article and the whole of German grammar is based on them. But your pop-up menu only shows if a word is a noun but not its gender. If you could include this feature, your app might be one of the (if not the) best to improve from basic to advanced German fluency” – 4/5 in Play Store

Jason Brueckner: “A lot better than other courses I've tried on Mobile. For one it teaches grammar with vocab, highlights which "the" word to use. And doesn't have ads at every corner. The only thing I've seen so far that costs money is an optional diploma every hundred lessons. Will continue to use until March 2023, which is when the app has informed me I will complete the course at the daily goal I have set.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Jeremy Neff: “This is a good app, and I feel like it could do well in helping me learn German. I know a fair amount of German vocabulary, but I started at Beginner in the app. After 8 lessons, portions of each lesson are cut out, because they're for premium users only. So I'm allowed to continue, but pieces of the instruction are unavailable to me. I despise subscription-based software, so unless there's a "buy the course" option, Wlingua has convinced me to learn German elsewhere.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Chantel Barden: “My 4 year old is very engaged with this app, it's fun. But it is limited, there is no continued growth once they complete the levels. For something that you pay for( quite a bit of monthly) it should be ever evolving, like Duolingo for example,” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Andrew Vargas: “Useful, but requires a lot processing power. Do not recommend using it on a weaker device (E. G. Galaxy tab a 8 - 2016). Also frustrating for words to auto-add on tap. Not every tap will be 100% accurate. On a slower device, very frustrating. I'm using premium and having more time is useful, but not by a lot. It has a slight edge over a Kindle because of the testing alone.” – 3/5 in Play Store

James Michels: “I'm learning German. I have a good grasp of the grammar and I already know a lot of words. I'm at the point that I really need to build out my vocabulary. For that reading is great. I don't know how good this app would be if I were just starting out, but it's great if you want to read a lot without having to jump to another app for translations. It also always you too flag words that you need more practice with and to review them. It's very entertaining to read with this app.” – 5/5 in Play Store
