Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “This app has tons if interesting & delicious receipes. But there are a few things that need to be addressed. One, the calorie count for most of the dishes are not listed. Two, they are almost always family sized, serving 4+ people. Doing the math to make a portion for 1 person can be annoying or difficult. Add auto conversion ! Three, there are "compilation videos" that showcase multiple ways to use one ingredient. However, the receipes shown often dont have their own pages. Overall 7.5/10” – 4/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “A lot of these recipes are a hit or miss. It's great for getting idea, but some of the recipes are missing something. For example: I tried this recipe for bbq chicken nuggets that only used chicken, bread crumbs, and bbq sauce. It sounded like great, but the breading didn't stick to the bbq sauce like in the video and was just really disappointing.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Cons Can be expensive compared to buying groceries and cooking from scratch, and some users have reported issues with recipe accuracy and meal quality.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Jess: “Food is great but the service is a pain to keep up with. I requested a pause (we would be out of town and couldn't afford it). The service was paused but still charged my card for some reason. Ended up cancelling too late and got an order we didn't want and couldn't afford. Their pause and cancel terms are not clear. Just be aware :(” – 2/5 in Play Store

Sublime Parry: “Recipes are simple but very tasty. Over priced: ultimately you're paying for a little meat, a zucchini, a carrot, a carb, and some seasoning and small single use ingredients=$20. Every once in a while I'd get a low quality veggie, chicken with a hole in the package, or a missing "free" item. This app inparticular won't let you cancel your membership, you're forced to log in to a browser. Uses heavy handed techniques to prevent cancellations, which is pretty normal by now, albeit disappointing.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Anitra Killebrew: “This app is great for finding any and all types of recipes. This app has something wrong with it. It will repeatedly say that I don't have an internet connection when I clearly do. This will prevent me from shaving my yums or even looking at recipes, its absolutely frustrating. Update: I followed the recommendation and now it works great, changing my review. Thanks.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Sylvia H: “The app is ok. I find it a bit tedious to navigate. It doesn't seem to take keywords very well in the search. When I look up one thing, it gives something entirely different. It frequently freezes and when you check off something on your list, it pops back up. It does have some good recipes when you can get to them but the glitches make it a bit hard to use. I will be looking elsewhere.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “I just discovered this app and I am enchanted! I love the how-to videos, the way the ingredients are listed (easy to get an overview of all I need), and the note telling me exactly what equipment is needed for each step in the process as I come to it. I hadn't seen that before! It speaks to the orderly side of my nature. (I have forgotten what chefs call setting everything up before you start; is it mise en place?) The way this app is designed makes it easy to navigate and fun to use. The pictures and videos are great and the instructions are clear. This app would be perfect, too, for a beginning cook who wants to learn the fundamentals (like chopping and blending ingredients together so the results are what you want). The recipes also serve as a spark for variations on themes because it helps you learn what goes together and what won't work (like pairing spices and different cuts of meat). It's also possible to sign up for email tips and stories of the day. This app actually lives up to its description in the "Read More" section on the Playstore. I've only been using Kitchen Stories for a short time, but I am a big fan already!” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “I recommend this app to all my fellow food lovers! The articles and how to videos are very helpful and the recipes are clearly written and easy to follow. I especially appreciate that the ingredients for each step are given at the beginning of each step so you don't have to go back to the start for measurements. The built in timers are nice too, and your screen stays open while you are using a recipe. Great range of recipes too, very global. Unusually good vegetarian selection.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Leah Bacon: “I had trouble creating an account. Both logging in with FB and Google seemed not to work, but when I closed and restarted the app I was logged in and my set up settings had saved. For someone less patient, that would have been the end of the experience and the app would be deleted, but I figured I'd give it one more chance. Will see how using it goes.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Anisia Jordan: “Adding an inventory tracker would make this app incredible! The best way to save money on groceries is to eat what you already have. So I'm picturing an inventory section where you can add common household items and when you go to make your meal plan you can select between Own, Need to Use, and Low Stock options. Then when generate the meal plan in addition to filtering out dislikes the algorithm should prioritize accordingly. And also the capability to add your own recipes into the rotation.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “I've been waiting for a phone app of the SuperCook website for a long time. The app works as expected, and does great. I've had a problem with my pantry not saving a few times, though. It does become irritating to need to input my whole pantry again, but I imagine this can get patched soon. A feature I would like to request is filtering on available recipes, namely filtering out recipes I don't have ingredients for. I big part of why I like this app is to make use of what I have on hand.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Ceddric Williams: “This is a great app for cooking ideas, learning new and many recipes methods foe cooking. You can add all your ingredients from shopping or in your pantry (everything!) *you can even use voice to add ingredients* , Supercook will tell you how many different recipes are available! You can search recipes by main ingredient, meal type, simple/easy etc. It even had a shopping list for quick reference. 😁 Long story short, IT.S PRETTY AWESOME! Cons May not be suitable for advanced cooks; Some users have reported technical issues; Premium subscription required for full access.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Chris James: “This app has been great. I have used it for a while now, however it seems there are starting to be more errors in the recipes such as food items not being used when called for in the ingredients list, portion control (when the items and instructions call for a medium skillet yet the quantities overflow a large high walled pan) and missing steps. Time for some quality control Mealime.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Miss Swaylo: “This app is genius! It saves us lots of time but more importantly $$!! The meals quick & easy. It also allows us the option of rolling grocery needs into Instacart & we can omit things already in our pantry! This is a must have app!!! Many reviews have discussed the blandness of their recipes. I think the developers objective is to give you a base point. Meals appear to be created for beginners & perhaps those with dietary restrictions. But all good cooks know you to add their own lil spin.” – 5/5 in Play Store

Cons Some features are only available with a premium subscription, not all recipes have nutritional information.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Scot Farnwalt: “I really like everything, but a great addition would be if you allow a video of prep/cooking instructions. Videos similar to what is available on the all recipes website. This feels like a better version of that but only missing that feature. PLEASE add that! Also, I like that you can click on a food item and swap it with others, but can you add an "add to shopping list" button. I think with slight updates over time, this will be a must-have app.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Jean Rucker: “I have used this app for some time now. Prior to finding this app, I was saving recipe links in a folder on my desktop. This is so much nicer. My only objection is that when I switched to a new phone and transferred all my software, this app would not transfer, and when I downloaded it from the playstore. It would not let me use my old samsung food account. So, I was forced to create another account and manually save all my old recipes. 😐 which was a huge hassle.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Cons - May not be suitable for all dietary needs, - Lacks some advanced features, - Requires a subscription

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Useful app, but far from perfect. Many common foods like sliced bread weights are VERY far off from the actual weight (in grams) of a slice, and this is a relatively frequent occurrence. Grocery lists are occasionally unspecific, saying things such as 5 cans of tuna, when the recipes call for some cans tuna in water, others pink tuna in oil, while the grocery list doesn't differentiate. Other than that, good variety of meals for the most part.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Love this app! It works so great. I really like that it can use leftovers. I wish you could make something with leftovers then have the app randomly insert it into your food schedule since I don't always want to eat before something 2 days in a row but I can't seem to do that. And the pantry is confusing to me. Other than that, GREAT app. Helps me so much. Meal planning and calorie counting made dead-simple!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Jedidiah Beard: “A great app for anyone who wants easy access to recipes. The interface is simple and user friendly and adding recipes, especially from the web, is so easy it's unreal - and the cook chopping carrots is fun to watch while the recipes are added! If you want to pay for no ads, it's money well spent, but if you choose not to, the ads are nominal and do not hinder the usability. Great app all around 👍🥳” – 5/5 in Play Store

mike alvarez: “Love this app. The best parts are import and share features. However, it has a bug. The feature to double the recipe does not work. For example: if I multiply 1/2 by 2, the result is 2/4. 2/4 is the same as 1/2. My phone is android version 13, Galaxy A32 5G. Another feature to be aware of is that it is a battery hog. If you accidentally don't close it after using it, it will drastically use up your battery. Be sure and close it as soon as you are done to mitigate this.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Mikaela Basile: “Man. Overall, I love this subscription in general due to the convenience of it all - but this recent app update for Android is PAINFUL. The app is so unnecessarily complicated now! Like if I want to add a box to my order, I now have to click through at least 2-3 windows to actually add it to my "box" when the previous version allowed me to add it on the menu list page with a single tap. It's too many taps to get through the app now. Before it was simple and generally easy to use.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Kerry Dilks: “App won't do anything at all past the "allow notifications" opening screen. Plus, the veggies have gotten smaller and older as the years have progressed. Also, the delivery issues for a few months were awful. Kept delivering to the neighbor's house, mushy boxes, once they just dropped it in the middle of the neighbor's driveway. That's improved since I insisted on a different carrier.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Your app is okay but for me it is missing some key features. It would be nice to have a pantry where I could add the items that I already have into a list as well as I details like expiration dates to keep my produce fresh. Possibly suggest receipes with the ingredients I have. Also I noticed that unless the ingredients is worded correctly or on your list you cannot save it which I don't like as sometimes I use ingredients that are not available on your app.” – 3/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Super great source of recipes. has step by step mode to walk you though which is handy. I hate how with my samsung note, there is no intuitive way to back a screen. I have to close program to get to recipes again. I get stuck in cookbook, get stuck in meal plan. its really frustrating. could be a wonderful app but I may end up deleting it.” – 4/5 in Play Store

It has a nice feature in regards to paywalls as well. :)” – 5/5 in Play Store

Disor Dot: “Love being able to add and sort out recipes from the internet quickly and easily and be able to use them from my phone. New Review... Dropped 5 star to 4... Not enjoying the new bubbles for the Courses and Categories... BeforeI could scroll down a column as I chose the items but now it's more difficult because the words are in bubbles and it requires a lateral scan while vertically scanning the items. A Google user: “We're making an effort to eat more veggies and have used this for most of our meals over the last week and a half with consistently great results. My 7-year-old even commented, "This is dancing in my mouth with happiness!" several times with different dishes. My (minor) complaints would be I've had to learn that the "heat" suggested is often too much for some members of my family & that the serving sizes are giant - "4" ends up being way too much for our family of 5 to eat, even with leftovers.” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “(Edited) After the devs made a change, it loaded. It's a very clean look while still very functional. There's a LOT of stuff locked behind a cheap prime access, though the free recipes i've tried break down the dishes simply, in the correct order and techniques based on ingredients. It even lets you improve or save a dish in game fashion. It's not a fridge cleaner, but a way for you to use up that one veggie you have too much of. Could use more recipes, but they "teach techniques" instead.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Dick Schultz: “I don't know what you started doing differently with the emails from the editor, but links in the emails never open directly to a recipe anymore. They just open the app to the home page, for at least a week now. I'm guessing it was the update on the 9th that created the issue. Please correct the emails or the app, whichever is making this not work.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Melanie F.: “High hopes for the updated version, but again I am disappointed. Despite the recipes being good, the app is not the most functional. Notifications will tease you with a 25 minute recipe so good that you want to lick the bowl! And then when you click on it, it takes you to the last recipe you looked at, a recipe that takes 3 hours or the home page. It's irritating and infuriating. Also, there is no landscape mode or measurement conversions.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Batman Anonymous: “amazing food! I was a little skeptical on trying a meal plan like these I wasn't sure if they would be good or if I could even cook them! but they took very little effort and time. all ingredients are provided and perfectly portioned. serving size is perfect and the food is amazing! I've tried one dish but can't wait to try more of them. highly recommend” – 5/5 in Play Store

Stephanie Wood: “We've tried several meal delivery services and we think these taste the best. For being green, there is still a LOT of plastic packaging. We would prefer the stickers to be more easily removable for ease of recycling. But the value is there and the flavors are by far the best! We are also mostly vegan, and we feel the vegan options are more diverse than most other subscriptions. Better packaging and we would be 5 stars all the way!” – 4/5 in Play Store

Jessa Fae: “Great app overall, at least in the paid version. Only deducting one star because there's no integration with desktop or online. I find many recipes while using my laptop, and there's no way to save them so I can access them in the app later. I have to manually send the link to my phone, then copy it into the app. Big hassle, and there are other apps that are similar that DO have an online web program, usually a browser extension, for this reason.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Malaika Powell: “The app is super easy to use, but I wish it was clearer before downloading that you needed to subscribe. I love the ability to inventory home goods and beauty products on top of groceries. Some grocery items are missing, but they're easy to add. Also, it's nice that it allows you to track how much of an item you have left by percentages. The only thing that would make it better is integration with myfitnesspal. Also, I wish there were more store options for the shopping function.” – 5/5 in Play Store
