Sarah Carlisle: “The baby tracker is pretty cool, I like that they brought back the countdown by days to your due date. Hate the groups function on the app because it is constantly freezing to the point I have to close out and reopen, then I don't know where I left off. I am debating Uninstalling and just going through a browser for a better experience.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Adrianne Grand Felger: “Provides decent information and has prompted me to look up other things I hadn't considered. The consistency between the widget and the information actually accessible is inconsistent or non-existent. I keep wanting to read the information provided in the widget, however it doesn't exist in the app when I click on it. Fortunately I'm almost to my due date and will absolutely be deleting the app when the baby comes. It's unfortunate that there's a lapse if technology for something so important.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Gloria Naughton: “App keeps crashing. I updated it and I'm still having issues. It will close from my background automatically after maybe 5 minutes and I try to click on the app, then it just freezes. Then I have to close out of it, try to open the app again and then re-login every single time! I used it during my pregnancy and had no issues. Now after, I'm trying to track my son's changing, feeding & sleeping and it's never worked so horribly. Please fix this issue or I will have to uninstall.” – 2/5 in Play Store

Haley Carra: “I love this app. Have a little suggestion for the journal though. I was looking at my journal entries and playing around with the symptom journaling feature, and one of my entries suddenly deleted itself! I'm sure I clicked something on accident, but maybe it would be a good idea to add a deletion confirmation pop up before it just deletes, or a way to undo, so its not so easy to lose what you've been tracking.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Cons Can be glitchy at times, and some users have reported that it is not as accurate as they would like.

Comments and Reviews from users:

Katianne Marsh: “I've only just starting using it as I just started early labor. Overall its easy to use. I turned off the suggestions because as soon as you have a contraction that is 5 minutes from the last one (even though the contractions are sporadic) it suggests going to the hospital, which is way too early to do so- contractions should be spaced evenly apart. I'm disappointed with the email history feature because when I open the excel sheet, for some reason the times have been replaced with # symbols.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Dr Karen Borman: “Solid. I read all the reviews about competing programs first. Tested practice labor over 10 or so contractions- worked great ( told me I'm not close to true labor yet. Pretty spot-on). It seems your phone handling skills matter more for data glitches than any mishandlings that this ap might have. I've founds no problems. Works great 👍 As for reviews, it asks what you think after the 3rd or so contraction, then it stops. I decided to review as it's working great :-) Overall, good choice.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Cons Some features may require a subscription, Can be overwhelming for some users, May not be suitable for all pregnancies

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “This is my favorite pregnancy app, and I've tried about 10. It's got everything I need! Only downside is that there is no way to hide articles or topics that you're not interested in, which can make the home page feel very cluttered. I'd love it if they either added an articles board so that it's separated from the baby and mom tracking, or a way to filter or hide what is showing up on your home/article page, or both. Other than that I'd say it's perfect!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Mary Vlahos: “Over all I like Ovia, because I do not have to pay for it, unlike most other pregnancy apps (of what I am looking for in a pregnancy app). However, majority articles do not want to open for me to read, or how to read the development of my baby. Also, I wish there was more than one graph. The only graph is for weight, everything else, I wish I can see how it trends. In some ways I feel like there is just so much on Ovia that it is hard to utilize the apps full potential and difficult to navigate.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “I love this app, but unfortunately for me it won't start anymore. It keeps crashing, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn't work. As soon as I click on the Bump app, it tries to start and then I immediately get a black screen and "Unfortunately, the Bump has stopped." Very disappointing as this is my favorite pregnancy app.” – 2/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “Great until you have a loss. I really enjoyed using the app while I was expecting, it was very informative and easy to use. Yesterday it was confirmed that I lost my pregnancy. Today I went to mark this in the app and it asked what information I wanted to see in the feed. I tried both options and there were constant errors which prevented me from being able to save the changes, meaning I will continue to receive emails about my now lost pregnancy.” – 3/5 in Play Store

Cons May not be accurate enough for medical purposes, and does not offer any additional features beyond basic contraction timing.

Comments and Reviews from users:

A Google user: “Worked great except it times the contractions incorrectly. The right way is to time from the beginning of 1 contraction to the beginning of the next. This app only measure the time between when 1 ends and the next begins. Otherwise it was easy to use and worked great.” – 4/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “The intervals are measured differently from everything we have learned... Our medical professionals indicate that it's from beginning of contraction to beginning of contraction. This app measures it from end of one to beginning of the next. I'd rather not have to do the math to figure out what the actual interval is...” – 3/5 in Play Store

Comments and Reviews from users:

Jacqueline Austin: “I am so impressed with this app!! I was hesitant to use an app for tracking as I thought it would likely just add one more thing I have to do as a new mom to my list. I was wrong! This app is fantastic at tracking. Mainly the usability is top notch. Best tip for using it is to log entries right when they are completed, Huckleberry makes it so simple to add entries because of thier default populated fields - being a Software Tester professionally, this is a difficult peice to get right, they do!!” – 5/5 in Play Store

Kayla Harrison: “I'm really impressed with this app! It tracks literally everything to help you as a parent.. because trying to remember when you last fed or pumped, etc. is just too much! It also offers diagrams and charts to show you progress overtime. Most of all, I am really impressed that I made a suggestion to had a timer for nursing (left & right side) and they added it!! Now this app is perfect!” – 5/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “My wife and I are expecting soon so I thought I'd check out some free contraction tracking apps to prepare. When the contractions start, we'll both be a bit over excited and stressed and neither of us will have the patience to figure out how to use the app, so I was looking for one that was both easy to use and easy to understand. A Google user: “there is no way to pause the app so that it wont screw up the calculation. if you stop to take a shower, go to the hospital, or just decide to not obsessively track every single contraction the next time you open the app all the numbers are off. This was very disappointing when i used this app 2 years ago with my son. I see now a comment from 6 days ago stating the same problem. In 2 years you couldn't fix such a major flaw in the app?!” – 2/5 in Play Store

A Google user: “The app has a simple design, easy to use. Where the app lists contractions and intervals the info is saved from the very beginning. However on the Graphs page the most information you can see is the past 20 contractions and intervals. I would rate higher if developers could add this information.” – 3/5 in Play Store

The only solution for me was to edit the seconds tapping + or - button a gazillion times - can't even leave it pressed - and one second per tap. Rita Peixeiro: “This brilliant app really helped me during the first few hours of my labour. The voice was calm and soothing, keeping me company and guiding me through each contraction. There were just a couple of things I didn't like. One was having to set the intensity rating from scratch each time. If it were set to what you had last selected you could only change it when intensity increased. Having to move the bar each time was distracting. The other was the 2min cut-off. I needed it longer on occasion.” – 4/5 in Play Store

Fred Stark: “Has one job, does it well. But... my partner's contractions were 3-4 min apart during early labour and this app showed the notice to head to the hospital every time we timed a contraction. Even after the hospital had already sent us back home 😂 Would have loved an option to permanently dismiss the message at that point” – 4/5 in Play Store

AE: “App works as expected without extras or unnecessary things. Great and easy way to keep track of the contractions. Would definitely recommend this over other more cluttered apps.” – 5/5 in Play Store
